Our Curriculum

At Little Meadow Child Care, we use The Creative Curriculum, a research-based program that encourages children to learn through hands-on exploration, meaningful play, and engaging experiences. Our teachers thoughtfully plan activities that support every area of development—including language, literacy, mathematics, science, social-emotional growth, physical development, and creative expression. We believe children learn best when they are actively involved, curious, and having fun.

Learning Through Discovery Centers

Our classroom is thoughtfully organized into engaging learning centers that encourage children to explore, create, and discover every day. Children rotate through centers including Science, Math & Manipulatives, Blocks & Construction, Dramatic Play, Art, Literacy, Sensory, and Music & Movement. These hands-on experiences help children build problem-solving skills, creativity, independence, teamwork, language, and confidence while making learning exciting and meaningful.

 

Sensory Play

Sensory play is an important part of each child's day at Little Meadow. Through activities using water, sand, play dough, natural materials, sensory bins, and creative textures, children develop fine motor skills, strengthen concentration, expand vocabulary, and explore scientific concepts. Sensory experiences also encourage curiosity, creativity, and self-regulation while making learning fun.

Little Bakers

Our baking activities give children the opportunity to become little chefs while learning valuable life skills. Measuring ingredients, counting, pouring, mixing, and following recipes naturally introduce early math and science concepts. Baking also encourages teamwork, patience, independence, and confidence, while allowing children to enjoy the delicious results of their hard work.

Healthy Meals and Snacks

Healthy eating is an important part of a child's growth and development. We provide nutritious breakfasts and wholesome afternoon snacks that fuel active minds and growing bodies.

 

Brand New Playground

Our newly renovated playground provides a safe, exciting outdoor environment where children can run, climb, balance, explore, and build confidence. Outdoor play strengthens gross motor skills, coordination, social interaction, and problem-solving while encouraging a lifelong love of movement and nature. Every day includes opportunities for active outdoor play, fresh air, and imaginative adventures.
